The 11 Best Foods You Aren't Eating ,from the NYT Blog "Well: Tara Parker-Pope on Health," was written in the summer but I happened to revisit it last week. All of the foods listed have been shown to have anti-cancer properties.
I was happy to discover that on that particular day I'd eaten 6 of these foods without even trying or making any special effort to think about it.
I'd had oatmeal with cinnamon
and chopped dried plums (aka prunes) for breakfast, leftover borscht
with cabbage at lunch, frozen blueberries with cereal for a snack. and
some leftover curried vegetable soup for another snack (I eat a lot).
This is a great list to keep in mind next time you're shopping, menu planning, or looking for a snack.
